i recently escaped the seemingly never ending cycle and struggle of city living journeying to north east arnhem land

time in the bush, soil red, walking through ash and smoke of a blackened landscape

this is wurrk season: the season when you see fire

the yonglu, local custodians of the land, burn the bush, for new growth, for gathering goanna, snakes, witti (wallaby), every living creature, for bush tucker, for life, even for the guku (wild bush honey)

i rediscovered the deep connection we have to land and if we take the time, just how much we need to learn
